Romania - Factors to watch on March 26

BUCHAREST, March 26 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Monday.

BUDGET DEFICIT

Romania's finance ministry should release two-month consolidated budget data.

DEBT TENDER

Roamanian debt managers tender 500 million lei ($132.75 million) worth of Oct. 2020 treasury bonds.

MONEY SUPPLY

Romanian M3 money supply expanded by 13.4 percent on the year to 353.5 billion lei ($93.47 billion) in February and by 1.0 percent on the month, central bank data showed on Friday.

CEE MARKETS

Central European currencies and stocks fell on Friday as fears of a global trade war drove investors away from the risk of emerging markets.

NUCLEARELECTRICA

Romanian state-owned nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica shut down its Unit 1 reactor on March 25 to assess a defect which occurred at one of the plant's process systems, it said in a statement on Sunday.

Hours later on Sunday, Nuclearelectrica said it has halved the power capacity of its second unit to replace an engine part at a pump. The unit's power generation capacity would be reduced for an estimated 16 hours, it said.

MOLDOVAN RALLY

The former president of Romania Traian Basescu joined more than 10,000 people in the Moldovan capital on Sunday to rally in support of reunification between Romania and Moldova.

Union between European Union member Romania and its smaller neighbour to the northeast looks unlikely but the issue highlights a divide in Moldova between pro-Western and Moscow-backed political factions ahead of elections in November.

FORD

Car exports of Ford Romania are delayed by up to a day by custom checks because Romania is kept out of the open-borders Schengen group, its manager said. Ziarul Financiar

DEBT HOLDINGS

Foreigners held 17.2 percent of Romania's domestic debt portfolio at the end of last year, slightly lower than at the end of 2016, finance ministry data showed. Ziarul Financiar
