Sunseekers looking for a Caribbean getaway have a new option thanks to Virgin Atlantic’s latest offering.

The transatlantic airline has launched the first flight from Europe to the Caribbean island of St Vincent with a new service from Heathrow Airport.

A twice-weekly service has begun from Heathrow, with flights having been taking off to St Vincent and the Grenadines on October 13.

It allows those looking to visit St Vincent from Heathrow Airport, which is not on the red list, to reconnect with family and loved ones or simply get away for a stunning sunshine break.

With deserted white sand beaches, St Vincent offers the quintessential Caribbean getaway and also serves as the gateway to the Grenadines, a collection of 32 islands.

The destination is full of yacht-filled harbours, chic private isles, coral reefs and dramatic volcanic landscapes offering the perfect escape for those in search of a luxury break.

The flight time from Heathrow Airport to St Vincent is around 11 hours including a stop in Antigua.
