Four Upstate teachers are finalists for 2025 Teacher of the Year

COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - On Thursday, South Carolina’s Teacher of the Year for 2025 will be named - and there is an 80 percent chance the winner will be from the Upstate.

One of the five finalists for Teacher of the Year is from the Midlands and the other four are Upstate educators. Below is the list of finalists:

  • Blake Bishop, Ware Shoals School District 51
  • Will Epps, Richland School District Two
  • Katie Farr, Spartanburg District Five Schools
  • Bekah Hamrick, Cherokee County School District
  • Braden Wilson, Anderson School District One

State Superintendent Ellen Weaver will announce the winner during a gala at the Governor’s Mansion on Thursday.
