THIS is the dramatic moment US jets came face to face with enemy Russian warplanes after Putin sent two nuclear bombers into the sky.

The scary pair of Tu-95MS nuclear bombers were seen soaring near to the coast of Alaska amid serious concerns in Moscow over the US's involvement in the war in Ukraine.

President Joe Biden's team are set to send major arms supplies to Ukraine as part of a $61billion war aid package in the coming days.

Russia's defence minister admitted they had deployed the strategic bombers, known as "Bear bombers", near to the coast of Alaska on an 11-hour flight over the Bering Sea.

Moscow said “at certain stages the missile carriers were accompanied by fighter jets of foreign countries”.

The Russian Defence Ministry released the bombshell footage of their warplanes seemingly squaring up to the Alaska Air National Guard (AANG) planes midair.

The AANG are apart of the US Air Force, and can be clearly identified in the video as the jet visibly marked with the letters AK and the number 304 on its tail fin.

It is unclear which other states were monitoring Russia's concerning mission but the closest ally would be Canada.

Despite the use of nuclear bombers being seen as suspicious, Moscow says they complied with all aerial laws and regulations.

They claimed “all flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in strict compliance with international rules of airspace use”.

The Tu-95 fleet is an integral part of Putin's armoury.

They have been used to launch devastating conventional missile strikes and have caused irreparable, large-scale destruction across Ukraine.

Tu-95s first flew under Soviet rule 70 years ago and have remained a mainstay of the Russian nuclear force ever since.

Known as incredibly noisy, they are still the world’s only propeller-powered strategic bombers.

US IN UKRAINE

The White House recently confirmed it will provide Ukraine with a substantial security package, including much-needed air defence systems and artillery ammunition.

US President Joe Biden said: "We rose to the moment, we came together and we got it done.

"Now we need to move fast, and we are."

Earlier today, Ukraine wiped out dozens of Russian fighters after blitzing their base with a US missile.

Aerial images show Ukrainian troops lining up to strike a huge group of Vladimir Putin's forces in the eastern city of Luhansk.

Ukraine have previously used £800,000 ATACMS after they were secretly sent over by the US.

The long-range ballistic missiles were used for blistering attacks on a military base in Crimea and on Russian forces in occupied Ukraine.

Last week, it was announced that Washington had quietly shipped ATACMS to Ukraine in recent weeks.

The tactical surface-to-surface ballistic missiles are fitted with a 500lb warhead and can reach targets 300km away in just five minutes, three times the speed of UK-supplied Storm Shadows.

The costly weapons can be used for precise strikes on targets behind enemy lines in record amounts of time.

It comes amid fears Nato could be forced into a showdown with Russia.

Just yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron declared he will send his countries brave troops to Ukraine if Putin breaks through the frontline.

If French troops are deployed to Ukraine it could be the biggest sign of Nato resistance so far against mad Vlad and his cronies as fears loom over a bombshell clash.

Nato's nuclear showdown with Putin

NATO is headed for a nuclear showdown with the west as Nato could be considering moving nukes to Putin's doorstep.

Below is a timeline of some of the thinly veiled threats the Kremlin has made against the West since invading Ukraine two years ago.

Feb 24, 2022 - Vladimir Putin: “No matter who tries to stand in our way or all the more so create threats for our country and our people, they must know that Russia will respond immediately, and the consequences will be such as you have never seen in your entire history."

March 26, 2022 - Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev: “We have a special document on nuclear deterrence. This document clearly indicates the grounds on which the Russian Federation is entitled to use nuclear weapons. … [This includes] when an act of aggression is committed against Russia and its allies."

April 20, 2022 - Vladimir Putin: “[The new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads] will force all who are trying to threaten our country in the heat of frenzied, aggressive rhetoric to think twice."

Feb 29, 2024 - Vladimir Putin: “They must understand that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory... All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. Don’t they get that?”

March 12, 2024 - Vladimir Putin declared that weapons like nukes "exist in order to use them".

chilling nuclear war simulator has also revealed how a Russian nuclear strike could trigger a global conflict - killing 35 million people in just a matter of hours.

The model predicts a catastrophic war escalating from an initial Russian nuclear strike, which quickly draws in other powers.

Known as "Plan A", the four-minute animation aims to highlight the horrific potential consequences of conflict between Russia and NATO countries as all nations would fire strikes against one another.

The model predicts that almost 35 million people would die within hours - many of those in the first 45 minutes.

The trigger-happy tyrant has even started talking about how he could deploy nukes in space, saying that Russia can be "proud" of its work on a "nuclear power plant... for operation in space".

A bombshell warning from US intelligence in February suggested Vlad could be hoping to arm his existing anti-satellite weapon with nukes and launch it into space.

Last year, Putin was said to be readying a deadly 20,000mph "meteorite" hypersonic missile for combat
