N.J. flower shop owner among 2 dead in Pennsylvania shooting

Two people, including the owner of a Hunterdon County flower store, were killed Monday in Pennsylvania after a chilling 911 call, authorities said.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the 1100 block of Heritage Boulevard in Hamilton Township just after 10:15 p.m. after a woman called 911 and a dispatcher heard a woman crying and could hear a man yelling in the background before multiple gunshots were heard, officials said

A woman found at the scene with gunshot wounds was declared dead, authorities said.

A man found at the scene suffered a single gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital where he was eventually declared dead, authorities said.

Additional details on the incident have not been shared by authorities.

News reports from WFMZ-69 identified those killed as Cheryl Okie, 35, and 36-year-old Robert Okie. The relationship of the victims was not immediately known.

Cheryl Okie was the owner of The Wild Iris on Main Street in Clinton.

A neighbor told WFMZ-69 that the Okies were relatively new to the neighborhood.

A GoFundMe for Cheryl Okie had raised over $22,000 towards a $28,000 goal by Thursday evening.

All proceeds will be used to cover funeral expenses and support her three kids, according to the description in the fundraiser.

“Her unexpected passing has left a deep void in our hearts, but the greatest loss is felt by her three children,” the description in the GoFundMe states. “We are so thankful they are safe but they are now left to navigate life without their mother.”

The Monroe County Coroner’s Office did not immediately return a request for comment.
