WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) โ The West Virginia State Police are investigating a theft of explosives from the Bluestone Coal Site 34 in Burke Mountain.
The investigation began on December 7, 2024, when Cpl. M.C. Shifflette responded to the scene.
After conducting an extensive investigation, Cpl. Shifflette identified the suspect as 40-year-old Garnett A. Rocchi, a resident of Bluefield.
On March 19, 2025, Cpl. Shifflette located and arrested Rocchi, charging him with possession of stolen explosive materials.
He is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The investigation into the theft remains ongoing.
