Two Oregon men are now in jail with their bails set to $1 million each after a traffic stop revealed almost 50 pounds of drugs.

LAKEHEAD, Calif. -- Two Oregon men are in the Shasta County Jail after police in Shasta County found them on Thursday with more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine in their car.

A California Highway Patrol officer stopped a car for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 northbound near Lakehead on Thursday, Mar. 20 at around 8:30 a.m. The CHP officer used their narcotic-odor-detection K9, leading to a probable cause search of the car. Law enforcement found about 48.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and about one pound of suspected cocaine, contacting the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force (SINTF).

Detectives with SINTF arrested 26-year-old Victor Ramirez and 46-year-old Justin Mac for possession and transportation of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales. Both Mac and Ramirez are lodged in the Jackson County Jail with bail set at $1 million each.
