State Rep. Kim Wallan on Friday urged acting U.S. Attorney William Narus to open an investigation into the Oregon Youth Authority in response to revelations that the agency has failed to adequately investigate abuse complaints.

Wallan cited the backlog of thousands of complaints “systemically ignored by agency personnel.”
