Series opener between No. 8 Oregon softball, Illinois suspended due to rain

The series opener between No. 8 Oregon and Illinois was suspended during the third inning due to rain.

The Ducks lead 6-0 and the game will resume at 12:05 p.m. Saturday at Jane Sanders Stadium, with the second game of the series to follow.

No. 8 Oregon (26-3, 2-1 Big Ten) built its lead with a six-run first.

Paige Sinicki hit an RBI double. Katie Flannery followed with a two-run home run, Dezi Patmon hit a two-run homer and Braiesey Rosa hit a solo home run in the frame.

Illinois (13-12, 1-2) has one hit and one walk through three innings against Lyndsey Grein.
