
Minnesota Falls to Nebraska on Day 1 in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. --The Minnesota Golden Gophers (13-16, 2-3 B1G) were not able to record a run against Nebraska junior pitcher Jordy Bahl on Friday and were shut out 8-0 by the No. 21 Cornhuskers (21-8, 2-2).
Freshman Natalie Susa (1-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Minnesota.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minnesota managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position. The Gophers last got a runner on third in the sixth, when Junior Breezy Burnett made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Minnesota pitchers faced 31 Nebraska hitters in the game, allowing nine ground balls and four fly balls while striking out two.
» Senior Margaret Tobias led the Gophers at the plate, going 1-for-2.
» Nebraska was led offensively by Junior Hoffmann, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
» Bahl led the Cornhuskers pitching staff, throwing six shutout innings.
