The annual George Washington's Birthday Luncheon was rescheduled to March 12, and members of the Hot Springs of Arkansas Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution had five members available for the new schedule.

There were several lineal societies represented at Hot Springs Country Club. The guest speaker, Carl Flowers, gave a presentation on how it must have been "Providence" that kept George Washington from being shot during the Revolutionary War. Attendees also visited with people from other cities, a news release said.

The Hot Springs of Arkansas Chapter NSDAR was organized on May 5, 1912. It is the oldest NSDAR chapter in Hot Springs. It holds its meetings on the second Saturday of each month. Ladies 18 years and older are always welcome to attend, the release said.
