Michigan State advances to Sweet 16 with 71-63 win over New Mexico
CLEVELAND. (WILX) - No. 2-seeded Michigan State men’s basketball trailed tenth-seeded New Mexico by two points at halftime but rallied in the second half to win 71-63 and advance to the Sweet 16.
Three Spartans scored in double figures. Jaden Akins made seven-of-11 shots from the field and led the team with 16 points. Tre Holloman had 14 points along with four assists and three steals. Frankie Fidler added 10 points.
Carson Cooper led MSU with eight rebounds, and Coen Carr had six.
