The Philadelphia Eagles were Super Bowl LIX winners, but Pennsylvania sports books were the ultimate losers in February with the majority losing money during the month.

According to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, revenues were down 75% when compared to figures from February 2024.

Statewide, sports books made just $7.4 million in revenue compared to $30.2 million in February of 2024. Hollywood Casino York lost more than $460,000 on sports wagers in February after making over $400,000 in the same month last year.

Hollywood Casino York was among the losers when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl in February.

With Pennsylvania sports fans betting heavily on the Eagles to win, Gaming Control Board spokesperson Doug Harbach said in large part led to the losses.

“That single event resulted in a $6.5 million loss for the operators,” Harbach said.

For all forms of gambling, Hollywood Casino York revenues were off by almost 15% when compared to last February, going from over $8.7 million to just over $7.4 million this year. A spokesperson for the casino's parent company said it does not comment on financial data.

Table game revenue was down 17% at the York County casino, going from more than $1.3 million in February 2024 to over $1.1 million this year.

Slot machine revenue was only off slightly at Hollywood Casino York, going from $6.9 million in February 2024 to $6.7 million this year, a loss of just below 3%.

Gambling revenue for all forms of gambling was off 4% statewide in February, going from $499 million in 2024 to $477 million this year.
