VCOM Louisiana makes history: Achieving a 100% match rate two years in a row
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - hands-on
When asked how they achieved this, VCOM Louisiana officials shared that they created a curriculum that requires great work ethic, intentional professor and care for students.
The curriculum gives students hands-on experience during medical rotations, mentorship from specialists, and more. So far, students in this graduating class have secured residency jobs in 30 states across the US.
Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Dr. Nathan Kinnard says “Some specialists in the state and states nearby volunteer their time to come teach specialty lessons, that may not be taught in a normal school, by a specialist that has experience. The mentors mold what they want to do in medicine, and helps give them encouragement along the way.”
