Play-by-play recap: Illinois State 10 Iowa 8
After sweeping Ohio State this past weekend, the Iowa Baseball team went on the road for their first midweek game of the season. The result was less than ideal, as the Hawkeyes fell to Illinois State 10-8. A pitching staff that has been up and down in their prior midweek contests, gave up 11 free bases and threw just 53.9% of pitches for strikes. The Hawkeyes rallied with three runs in the eighth inning and four in the ninth, but the comeback came up short. With the loss, Iowa falls to 14-9 overall and sees their six-game winning streak come to an end.
