Family in Western North Carolina rebuilding after Hurricane Helene devastation

MITCHELL COUNTY, NC — A family of four in Western North Carolina is working to rebuild their lives after losing everything to Hurricane Helene.

The Dellinger family, which includes two young children, managed to escape the storm's wrath in time, but their home was swept away by the flood waters.

"We all got out in time. We weren't trapped in with a mudslide or a tree, so we got out safe," said a family member.

The hurricane destroyed their house and ruined everything inside. The family continues to face the challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
