Wind advisory in effect for parts of Arizona with a cooler week ahead
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Highs Monday in the Valley will be in the mid-80s, similar to Sunday. That looks to be the warmest day of the next few, as we’re tracking some changes on the way!
A low-pressure system will bring some cooler temperatures by the middle of the week, kick up the wind, and bring the chance for rain or snow to northern and eastern Arizona.
A Wind Advisory is in effect Monday into Tuesday morning for northern and eastern Arizona including areas like the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Winslow. Winds could gust up to 50 mph. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for the southeastern portion of the state on Tuesday due to strong winds and dry conditions.
For the Valley, it will be breezy Tuesday with gusts up to 25 mph. Statewide temps will fall Tuesday into Wednesday. The high in Phoenix on Tuesday is 75 degrees and moves down to 70 degrees on Wednesday.
Flagstaff will go from the upper 50s Monday to highs in the lower 40s Wednesday. Due to the unsettled weather pattern, the chance for rain and snow looks to pick up Wednesday for northern and eastern Arizona with light accumulations, possibly an inch of snow above 6,000 feet. Showers look to pick up Wednesday morning and continue through the afternoon, with another chance Friday into Saturday. Temperatures will return to seasonal in Phoenix, in the lower 80s, by the upcoming weekend.
