      ALL RIGHT. THANKS SO MUCH, JAY. NOW THE HARDIN COUNTY COMMUNITY IS GRIEVING AFTER TWO TEENS DIED IN A CRASH ON SATURDAY. BOTH ATTENDED HARDIN CENTRAL HIGH. NOW THE SCHOOL IS DOING THEIR PART TO OFFER SUPPORT TO STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF. WLKY’S D ANDREA TURNER HAS THE STORY. A GROWING MEMORIAL MARKS THE SPOT WHERE TWO CENTRAL HARDIN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS LOST THEIR LIVES IN A WEEKEND CRASH ON SAINT JOHN ROAD. PIECES OF THE WRECKAGE STILL LINGER IN THE GRASS, A PAINFUL REMINDER OF A TRAGEDY THAT HAS IMPACTED THIS COMMUNITY. IT’S JUST DOUBLE THE PAIN. IT’S UNFATHOMABLE. 17 YEAR OLD GERALD LYON WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL WHEN HE LOST CONTROL. POLICE SAY THE CAR VEERED OFF THE ROAD, ROLLING MULTIPLE TIMES. LYON DIED AT THE HOSPITAL. LATER SATURDAY NIGHT, HIS PASSENGER, 16 YEAR OLD TRISTAN SCHROEDER, WAS EJECTED FROM THE CAR AND DIED AT THE SCENE. TWO OTHER TEENS IN THE BACK SURVIVED WITH MINOR INJURIES. JOHN WRIGHT WITH HARDIN COUNTY SCHOOLS, SAYS AS A PARENT, HIS HEART BREAKS FOR THESE FAMILIES. IT’S TOUGH, YOU KNOW, TO KNOW THAT YOU GOT TO GIVE THEM WINGS. SOMETIMES. IT’S IT JUST ENDS IN A BAD, BAD TRAGEDY LIKE THIS ONE DID. THE CRASH THAT CLAIMED BOTH OF THESE STUDENTS LIVES HAPPENED AROUND 230 ON SATURDAY MORNING. AND WHILE IT’S OFFICIALLY SPRING BREAK ON MONDAY MORNING, THESE DOORS WILL BE OPEN FOR ANY FACULTY, STAFF OR STUDENT WHO JUST WANTS TO GRIEVE AND BE TOGETHER. YOU DON’T HAVE TO TO COME IN AND TALK WITH A COUNSELOR. YOU CAN COME IN AND JUST BE WITH EACH OTHER. THE MEDIA CENTER WILL BE OPEN MONDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO NOON. OFFERING A SAFE SPACE FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF. JUST COME BE WITH EACH OTHER AND SHARE MEMORIES. SHARE GOOD TIMES.       A second teenager has died following a rollover crash in Hardin County that left two others injured early Saturday morning.Early Sunday morning, the Jefferson County coroner's office confirmed 17-year-old Gerald Lyon, who was driving the vehicle, died Saturday evening at UofL Hospital. The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on St. John Road. A preliminary investigation found that Lyon lost control of the car, causing it to go off the roadway and roll several times.Investigators have also confirmed that 16-year-old Tristen Shrouder, who was riding in the front seat, was the person who died at the scene after being ejected from the car during the crash.Two other teens were in the back seat at the time of the crash and received minor injuries.The Hardin County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Unit is still working to figure out what caused the crash.
