The Texas Tech softball team continues its push toward a Big 12 Conference title when the Red Raiders host Houston for a trio of games at Rocky Johnson Field this weekend.

The 14th-ranked Red Raiders (31-9, 11-1) have won eight games in a row and have firm control of first place in the conference standings. Houston is on the other side of the standings with a 3-10 mark in league games and having lost five of its last six.

NiJaree Canady went 2-for-3 at the plate with two home runs and three RBI and had seven strikeouts in the complete-game effort in Texas Tech's 3-2 win over Houston on Friday.
